  • Birgit Fischer
    Performance and mental training for management, canoeing adventure events and personal training for competitive sports are all offered by the company belonging to world champion canoeist and Germany’s most successful Olympic competitor (8 x gold and 4 x silver in 6 Olympiads). Born and raised in Brandenburg an der Havel she began canoe training here at just six years old. Awarded honorary citizenship after Olympia 2004 in recognition of her outstanding sports achievements she is now an ambassador for her home city and the province of Brandenburg.

 

In 1991 three honorary citizenships were revoked

  • Adolf Hitler (awarded 1933)
  • Wilhelm Kube (NSDAP Gauleiter, Lord President of the frontier provinces of Brandenburg and Mark Posen-West Prussia, awarded 1934)
  • Ernst Altenkirch (communist, sat in Brandenburg prison, was active after the war in the Brandenburg SED leadership and as SED member of the City Parliament, awarded 1976)
