Aeronautical Exhibition
Brandenburg an der Havel has been closely associated with aviation since 1910. The Brandenburgische Flugzeugwerke, later Hansa-Brandenburg, was at times Germany's largest air carrier. Nearly 1,500 aircraft were built from 1914 until the end of World War I, and several world records achieved. Arado, one of the largest companies in Germany, built more than 4,000 aircraft in Brandenburg between 1934 and the end of the Second World War, including some groundbreaking designs. The first four-engine aircraft in the world was also developed at Arado. Through photos, models, document, uniforms and other items the exhibition lends witness to the colourful history of Brandenburg aviation.
Due to relocation the aeronautical exhibition is currently closed. Reopening is scheduled for later this year. Please ask for details at the tourist office of the city of Brandenburg an der Havel on (03381) 208769 or with the provider on (03381) 212466.
