On the Domstiftgut Mötzow (Mötzow Manor), about 10 kilometres outside the city of Brandenburg, a private collector has accumulated over 10,000 items and testimonies from the GDR. The extensive collection offers an exceptional, sometimes intimate insight into the daily life in the GDR:
The sandman and Pittiplatsch, East German puppets, can be found here, as well as Karo Cigarettes, “Free German Youth” pennants, Praktika cameras and Erich Honecker in words and pictures. There are also about 20 mopeds and 4 cars from GDR production - the Trabi is also there.
