In a permanent exhibition the psychiatric museum displays the history of the National Socialist crimes against patients in the Görden state mental institution in the years 1933 to 1945, and gives victims and offenders names and faces. It is a place of memorial and contemplation.

The exhibition relates the early history of psychiatry on the basis of a fundus of objects from the hospital. Sheet metal crockery from the early years of the clinic, founded in 1910, coin tokens, pharmacy accessories, straight jackets or equipment from the asylum’s own shoemaking and bookbinding workshops are just some of the exhibits. Insight into the recent past of the building is provided by three authentically furnished rooms, including a high-security cell with an integrated toilet-shower. The psychiatric museum is housed in building 23 of the Asklepios Fachklinikum Brandenburg (Brandenburg Asklepios Hospital).
