Brandenburg an der Havel is known for its large number and variety of educational, vocational and artistic education. In addition to the local schools, there are also church and privately maintained educational institutions. Since 1992 the Brandenburg University of Applied Sciences has contributed to the nationwide importance of the "educational city".
