One of the most interesting monuments of the city since the year 2007 shines once again with new splendour. After extensive restoration and renovation work the former Dominican monastery battered during WWII and the Church of St. Paul have been cleared for public usage again.

The National Archaeological Museum Logo für externen Link, which has found a new home, shows a representative overview of the cultural history of Brandenburg up to the recent past. A chronological tour presents precious discoveries from the stone, Bronze and Iron Ages, finds from the Roman Empire, the Slavic and German Middle Ages and modern times. More than 13,000 years of culture and formal richness and diversity of the historical province of Brandenburg are conveyed over 2,100 square meters in the premises of the former monastery. The monastery complex, itself an important monument, is part of the permanent exhibition, being part and mirror of the country's turbulent history.

The former monastery church has been rebuilt and offers breathtaking impressions. It can also be used for various events. The Gothic brick reaches a height of 17 meters with a roof peak of 30 meters, providing a distinctive and individual space for concerts, theatrical performances and many other events on 800 square meters.
